Smoothed Over: Microneedling & Acne Scarring

Acne alone is a challenging skin condition to treat and can have a significant impact on a person’s self-esteem. Unfortunately, after clearing acne, many are left with scars that reduce the chance of building lost confidence. Acne scars are caused by inflammation and damage to skin tissue. They can include dark spots, raised scars, or pitted scars. There are several treatments available for acne scars, including dermabrasion, laser resurfacing, punch grafts, chemical peels, dermal fillers, and microneedling. Microneedling seems to be the most favorable among many aesthetics providers due to the ease of treatment, quick healing, limited risk of side effects, and extraordinary results.
