Skin care product formulations matter, not only which ingredients are included but also which ingredients are left out. Formulations are effective based on how the ingredients cooperate with each other. This is important because consumers look for ingredients that both produce results and are safe for themselves and the environment.

The United States of America

 In the United States, skin care formulations, cosmetics, and their respective ingredients fall under the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) per the Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act. Some banned or restricted ingredients are not permitted in the United States; however, in relation to the global community, particularly the European Union, the United States appears to have fewer limitations than its European counterparts.

Kirsten Sheridan has a higher national diploma in beauty therapy from the United Kingdom and is a licensed aesthetician. She has 20 years of experience as an aesthetician and educator, holds a teaching qualification through City and Guilds London, and is a CIDESCO diplomat.
