Filling Your Cup: Waxing & Body Mechanics

Being in the aesthetics industry means being on your feet constantly and always using your hands. You’re going to be sore. Your hands and feet are going to hurt, but paying attention to how you’re standing, sitting, and moving around will help alleviate that. 

BODY MECHANICS

Body mechanics describe the ways people move the body throughout the day. There are four basic aspects of body mechanics, including posture, base of support or center of gravity, aligning the body with movement, and lifting with your knees. Waxers are on their feet all day, applying wax and filling in eyebrows, so pain may be common if you’re not taking care of yourself.
