Hand-held devices have become increasingly popular over the last couple of years, as previously used machines were big, bulky, and difficult to move between treatment rooms, resulting in spas and clinics hesitant to invest in more than one machine. Due to this, devices have gotten smaller, portable, and more compact while still giving optimum results.

Homecare devices have also risen in popularity since the beginning of the pandemic in 2020 as a response to the absence of professional treatments. With video calls becoming the predominant method of communication over lockdown, people became more concerned and aware of their skin conditions while on camera, and the demand for home skin care devices increased.

During the pandemic many spas took the opportunity to upsell while their businesses were closed.
