An Introduction to Eyes

• The skin around the eyes is the thinnest and most fragile skin on the face

• It lacks sebaceous glands, collagen, and elastin fibers.

• The skin under the eyes is thinned to provide adequate coverage of tiny fat pads that protect the eyes from trauma or force injury.

• The lower eyelid skin is not as mobile as upper eyelids; thus, the underlying muscles are not as thick and developed in your lower eyelids.

• Furthermore, skin around the eyes is under the strain of 22 muscles in perpetual motion and 10,000 blinks per day, which is why fine and deep wrinkles can appear prematurely.
