Repêchage Hosts Oncology Esthetics Bootcamp with NASNPRO and Hands-On Training

Repêchage Professional Skin Care hosted the Oncology Esthetics Bootcamp with the National Aesthetic Spa Network (NASNPRO). The event was hosted at the Lydia Sarfati Post-Graduate Academy on October 28, 2019, with a portion of the proceeds donated to the Susan G. Komen Foundation. Repêchage CEO and Founder Lydia Sarfati led a one-day hands-on training the following day, October 29, 2019.

Skin care professionals joined Repêchage for two days of educational training on oncology esthetics. Repêchage welcomed Certified Oncology Esthetician and Owner of Oasis Day Spa, Julie Mahoney to share her experience with oncology spa services on day one. Mahoney provided an overview of safe practices with oncology aesthetics, which included a thorough understanding of how to do proper client intake and health history assessment.

The following day’s hands-on training was led by Sarfati, who shared the benefits of oncology aesthetics, safe ingredients, how to address and speak with clients, safety procedures, and how to create custom treatments.

“With an estimated 16.9 million cancer survivors in the United States as of 2019, it is important to provide aestheticians with the proper education to be able to provide care to former and current oncology patients,” says Sarfati.  “I am very gratified to help provide education in this important area, from proper intake forms, learning how to listen and discern both physical and emotional difficulties arising from their conditions, to learning how to perform essential skin care massage and treatment to help ease skin concerns, this is very important area of skin care education in which every aesthetician needs to become familiar.”
