This webinar takes on the science behind hyperpigmentation and how to successfully treat it in the treatment room. Understand the function of the mighty melanocyte and how it is responsible for the process of melanogenesis. Learn about the importance of the cross talk between melanocytes and keratinocytes and the significant role the keratinocyte plays in the transfer of melanosomes. Ultraviolet exposure contributes to hyperpigmentation, but it is not the only player. Having a grasp on the how skin responds to the treatment of hyperpigmentation allows for more effective treatment outcomes.

 

MEET THE PRESENTER- KIRSTEN SHERIDAN, L.E.

Kirsten Sheridan has a higher national diploma in beauty therapy from the United Kingdom and is a licensed aesthetician. She has 20 years of experience as an aesthetician, educator, and holds a teaching qualification through The City and Guilds of London Institute. In addition, Sheridan is a CIDESCO diplomat, and her other qualifications include massage therapy, aromatherapy, reflexology, and electrology. Sheridan is the owner and founder of knowskin.com, an online learning hub for aestheticians and has taught for Dermalogica, IDI, San Francisco Institute of Esthetics and Cosmetology, San Jose City College, and The Dermal Sciences Institute.
