- A pan (preferably enamel)
- 4 cups of water
- 1 to 2 ounces of fresh or dried herbs*
- A bath towel
*Herbs and flowers suggested: lavender, rose petal, rosemary, thyme, peppermint, eucalyptus, or lemongrass.
Bring the water to a boil, add herbs, and simmer for 30 seconds. While the water boils, cleanse the client’s face well. Place the pot with the herb tea on a trivet to protect the table.
The client should sit comfortably with their face six to 12 inches from the water. Cover their head with the towel to make a steam tent. Have them inhale deeply and they will feel the tension melt from their shoulders while their pores open and cleanse. After 10 to 20 minutes, rinse their face with cool water and pat dry.
