The golden rule, “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you,” is a well known saying. Whether you are a religious person or not, this rule, also known as the Ethic of Reciprocity, sets a standard that most people strive to follow. Simply put, we should strive to treat other people as we would wish to be treated ourselves.

When I step into a business, whether it be a spa, grocery store, or even a gas station there are a couple of things I pay attention to. Is the business clean and inviting? Does it carry the items I'm looking for? Are their prices reasonable? Then, last but definitely not least … customer service. Was I greeted when I entered? Are their employees helpful…
