Staying Driven and Passionate

Written by

Each year, the Aesthetics International Association (AIA) offers several continuing education opportunities, such as the CEU exam within each issue of DERMASCOPE Magazine. AIA also offers live events that are coordinated in conjunction with the tradeshows of the International Congress of Esthetics & Spa (ICES).

Continuing your education shows your clients and colleagues that you are driven and passionate about staying ahead of the curve. It also demonstrates the love and dedication you possess for the career path that you have chosen.
This year, AIA is offering 18 continuing education hours over the course of the three-day Professional Hair Removal Conference (PHRC) event. PHRC is an annual affair that is hosted in either Dallas, Texas or Miami, Fla. This year’s conference will be in Dallas, Texas from May 14th to 16th. Onsite registrations will be accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis. All PHRC attendees will receive an admission ticket to the Dallas ICES congress.
This conference caters to laser technicians, electrologists, aestheticians, registered nurses, and physicians throughout the region who are looking to earn continuing education hours. It will cover topics such as diseases, medications and contraindications, HIV 101, combining hair removal modalities, laser hair removal rules and regulations, OSHA regulatory standards, calming irritated skin, and client retention. There will also be live demonstrations and much more.
This year’s lineup of speakers include some of the most dynamic professionals in this and other industries. The Benefits of Sugaring will be presented by Lina Kennedy, president of Alexandria Professional, and Hair and the Joy of Self Expression will be discussed by Dr. Lee Kinsey, founder of Dr. Lee Kinsey Counseling. PCOS Factors and Complications will be taught by Dr. Angela Watson, physician at Women’s Health Services; Laser Hair Removal Rules and Regulations will be covered by Michelle De Leon, co-founder of the Aesthetics Laser Academy & Spa; and Ergonomics of Work will be discussed by Dr. Marty Hall, founder of Dr. Marty Hall Chiropractic.
PHRC is honored to have several prestigious organizations and companies sponsor this year’s event. The 2016 sponsors include the Society of Clinical & Medical Hair Removal (SCMHR), Alexandria Professional, Silhouet Tone, Aesthetics Laser Academy & Spa, and Health & Harmony Spa Music.
