On September 5, 2000, Tranquility Spa opened in a small, stone house in Saint Charles, Ill. Tranquility was the dream of licensed aesthetician, Beverly Miller. A pioneer in the skin and beauty industry since 1976, Miller had a vision of a skin care center that focused on results-oriented skin care treatments, outstanding customer service, and education about clients’ skin care options. In 2003, Miller and Loreta Lescelius became business partners and relocated the spa to its current location.

Renamed as Tranquility Spa and Wellness Center, this spa is a healing and peaceful haven that offers skin care, natural nail care, massage therapy, chiropractic and natural medicine, acupuncture, psychotherapy, reiki, permanent makeup, yoga therapy, and much more. Lescelius and Miller are both very passionate about giving back to their community. They are both involved with the Living Well Cancer Resource Center and have participated in several of their charity walks. They have also walked 60 miles in the Susan G. Komen 3-Day, several times.
Because of this passion, Miller wanted to help Tranquility clients who had been diagnosed with breast cancer and other cancers. She was also inspired after seeing all types of severe skin reactions, emotional distress, and feelings of unattractiveness due to their invasive treatments. Miller met Morag Curin, founder of an oncology aesthetics training program. With Currin, she organized a training session to be held in St. Charles for aestheticians wanting to learn how to care for cancer clients. She and her staff attended the three-day certification course so they could be properly trained to treat clients battling the effects of cancer treatments. As a result, treatment at Tranquility is geared to calm and soothe the skin without any harsh products or ingredients. Their hydrating and moisturizing masks are essential and massage techniques are kept very light to induce relaxation and reduce stress.
