It is safe to say that sunscreen is universally recognized as one of the most imperative products in any skin care routine. Not only can it prevent skin cancer, but it protects skin against premature aging including dark spots, wrinkles, and sagging. Clearly, it is a product that clients should be using every day, rain or shine. Despite knowing all the merits of sunscreen usage, it can be difficult to get clients to implement sunscreen as part of their daily skin care regime.

Currently, the average client knows that wearing sunscreen is serious business. Still, they often forget to use it or only apply it when they know they will be spending a lot of time in the sun. This can be a huge problem since most people only use sunscreen about 20% of the time they are in the sun. Furthermore, of those that do, only about 28% reapply.

The knowledge is clear and accessible, but some people may be desensitized to the skin cancer and sunburn conversation. While those points take center stage, skin care professionals may need to highlight ancillary merits to make a case for sunscreen usage.
