In this current era of self-care and being kind to oneself, clients are starting to think about skin care beyond just the face and décolletage. So much, in fact, that now full-body treatments, especially brightening treatments, are growing in popularity. From the underarms and bikini area down to the feet, every inch of the body deserves to gleam with radiance. This guide delves into a few treatments skin care professionals can offer their clients for all over brighter, glowing skin.

MICRODERMABRASION

Microdermabrasion, especially diamond tip, can be used on the entire body from head to toe. It is excellent for treating areas that can darken over time, such as underarms, elbows, knees, ankles, and inner thighs. But it is also an effective treatment for post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH) from acne that can occur on the shoulders, back, and buttocks, as well as ingrown hairs in the bikini area.

With microdermabrasion, the skin care professional exfoliates the top layer of dead, pigmented skin and prepares it for better absorption of treatment products. After a thorough diamond-tip exfoliation, they can add serums that promote skin brightening and further exfoliation, such as lactic acid, vitamin C, licorice root, bearberry extract, mulberry extract, and even kojic acid.

Microdermabrasion can also be paired with chemical peels and enzymes for enhanced skin brightening benefits, but caution should be taken when applying these treatments and certain serums to intimate areas. The skin care professional should ensure those ingredients are appropriate for sensitive areas. Overall, diamond-tip microdermabrasion is a cost-effective way to offer both full-body brightening or specific area-targeting treatments.
