The Art of Beauty

AIA Dec 2025

If there is one thing that has never gone out of style in my over 30 years in aesthetics, it is the pursuit of beauty. It is what first draws many of us to this field – the colors, the creativity, the transformation, and what continues to evolve with every generation of professionals.

Beauty in aesthetics is about so much more than what we see on the surface. It is artistry with purpose. It is learning to enhance without masking, to restore balance rather than chase perfection. True beauty work is an interpretation. It is seeing what is already there and bringing it forth with confidence.

That spirit is exactly what we celebrate in this month’s issue and on our cover. The annual cover contest captures the heart of what this community stands for: creativity, individuality, and the courage to show up with your own vision.

This year’s winner, SkyLee Edmiston, featured proudly on the cover, reminds us that aesthetics is more than business. It can be an act of compassion built on skill and self-expression.

So, take a moment to soak it in. Celebrate the artistry and the beauty professionals who bring it all to life. Because in the end, beauty is defined by those who create it.
