As a skin care professional, using Instagram to promote your spa business is invaluable, and one of the best tools at your disposal for direct engagement with your followers is Instagram stories. Instagram stories allow you to post in-the-moment content, update followers on needed information, and get more personal with potential and current clients. Chances are, you’re probably already using your stories in some of these ways, but this installment of The Content Lab will dive into some strategies to better leverage your Instagram story as a skin care professional.
BEFORE & AFTER
People connect with results and the best results are the ones they can see. This is where B&As come into play. Obviously, it is important to get a client’s permission before taking and posting them on your public story, but if you are able to snag a couple clients who are comfortable posing for a B&A, these types of stories can be great ways to show off how effective your services are. B&Aa’s build trust and social proof for your services, and a great after could be the final push for a potential new client to book a service with you.
When taking the photos, it is helpful to plan for the “before” and the “after” to be taken in the same place, with the same setup, and the same lighting. You want the actual results of the service to stand out, so make sure that the only thing different between the two photos is the result of the provided service on your client. There’s no need to take the photo with a professional camera, your phone should do the trick. Post the two images one after the other on your story and be sure to include a call-to-action to book or a link sticker on the “after” photograph to make it easy for viewers to get more information about the service.
