After all, when was the last time you posted a genuine photo of your business? Often, spas get swept up in the constant outpouring of perfectly posed and airbrushed advertisements on social media, too perfect for real life and easily forgettable. In this constant barrage of flawlessness, it is apparent that one of the most valuable – and yet underutilized – tools in the spa industry is authenticity. Defined in the dictionary as “being true to one’s own personality, spirit, or character,” being authentic is incredibly important in business.
While business owners are quick to post a run-of-the-mill aesthetic photo to social media to accompany upcoming specials or to fulfill the never-ending engagement quotas required of spas these days, one might argue that posting a real photograph of your establishment is much more valuable than the standard stock photography available to everyone. This may seem like a daunting task if you are not accustomed to it but knowing the types of photos spa clientele would like to see can combat this. Photography that often trends well with clientele include staff photos, still life photography, mid-treatment photos, and spa décor.
