In Traditional Oriental Medicine, mushrooms are considered some of the most renowned herbs and commonly prescribed for their medicinal properties. Just as the Romans considered mushrooms to be “the food of the gods,” the Chinese referred to mushrooms as the “elixir of life,” and in more recent times they have been called miracle plants and a superfood.
