January has that something special to it. Classically, it represents renewed beginnings – a reset. I feel this attitude especially because it happens to be the month I was born in. In actuality, the new year does not always have the fresh cut one might be hoping for. I can assure you, even if the last 356 days spun by to make one long – what feels like – 24 hours, 2025 can be the beginning of something grand.

For you, it might be a new training or certificate that boosts your skills beyond belief or a new chapter in your career entirely. For DERMASCOPE, January is the beginning of year-round celebration. The occasion? We are turning 50!

Before you run to comment on how youthful we look, I want to be the first to say, yes, we have had some work done – and are proud of it! It is uncanny what the world of medical aesthetics is capable of these days. Speaking of medical aesthetics, readers will find their selection of primary articles breaking down a facet of the subject, including prejuvenation and dermatologic surgery. Whether beyond the scope or not, medical aesthetics is not a subject the working professional can be oblivious to anymore.

Here is to the next 12 months! May they be kind. May they bring peace. And most importantly, may they come.
