After a long day at the spa taking care of clients, a professional probably wants to relax, let go of the pressures of the day, and leave the stress behind. They deserve to have some time for themselves and their family after putting in most of their energy for the day into their work.
Having an evening routine and an early bedtime are good ways to combat exhaustion. Try doing one or more of these things to get the most out of leisure time after work.
Breathe Some Fresh Air: A change of scenery after being cooped up indoors all day will help anyone relax. Try getting out of the house for a walk or start a backyard garden. Breathing in fresh air will help most individuals relax.
Get a Sweat In: Exercise releases endorphins and sweats out toxins. Aside from the benefits of a leaner, stronger body, regular physical exercise will help an individual feel happier and more energetic in the long-run.
Take a Hot Bath: The best way to leave work behind is to wash away tension from the body. Warm water has a calming effect on the mind and body. Consider soaking with some Epsom salts.
Meditate: Meditation is a great way to channel energy from stress to positivity. Also, simple restorative yoga poses and light stretching will help the body wind down from the day. A particularly good position for unwinding is child’s pose and savasana.
Get Some Sleep: There is no better way to restore energy than getting a good night’s sleep. Dimming the lights sends the body a signal to wind down and go to bed. Instead of keeping the bright lights on all evening, dim them when home. As early as possible, turn off all electronics, including the television. Make a habit to stop checking social media at a certain time every night.
Create a sanctuary: Soft pillows, warm blankets, and a serene color scheme in the bedroom will help the mind relax and drift off into sleep. Consider filling a diffuser in the bedroom an hour before sleep with lavender essential oil.
