Our offices at DERMASCOPE are full of that New Year’s buzz of activity.
We are working diligently on the monthly issues of the magazine, the compilation of the 2016 Products and Education Guide, a redesign of DERMASCOPE.com, and the restructure of our editorial e-blasts. It is a lot to tackle, but we feel energized about the growth and direction of our brand.

For 2016, we have reformatted a handful of our departments – beginning with Contributors (page 18) to offer a more personal insight with the monthly educators. Take Note (page 21) becomes more in-depth with the latest industry news. Resources (page 31) begins focusing on leading skin care ingredients, while also spotlighting a few of our favorite professional products that feature the key ingredient of the month.
We are also adding a few new departments to the magazine. Fact or Fiction (page 27) tackles a monthly skin care statement, shedding light and truth on common skin care beliefs. Makeup Matters (page 31) consists of a step-by-step article on trending makeup topics. Tools of the Trade (page 65) coincides with the main editorial theme each month, showcasing trendsetters in the industry.

DERMASCOPE has always strived for unbiased, educational material – and we’re keeping it that way.

On DERMASCOPE.com, we are also changing things up in a big way. We will launch complete redesign in the spring. But for now, I am most excited about our weekly product giveaway, the Beauty Basket, where licensed professionals can enter to win baskets valued over $500. Turn to page 20 to see the advertisement on this month’s baskets. We also have new sections on our website for users to write blogs, watch educational videos, and engage in our updated community!
One thing we aren’t changing? The education. DERMASCOPE has always strived for unbiased, educational material – and we’re keeping it that way. We will continually deliver balanced, informative, edifying information.
With change comes a constant evaluation process – one where I invite all readers to vocally engage. I am always eager to hear what you love (or maybe don’t love quite as much!) about the magazine. Whether it is on social media or direct at amanda@dermascope.com, please reach out to me! I look forward to hearing from you.
