As a professional makeup artist, I always recommend that the best time to apply your skin care treatments is at night. That way, you always have the full benefit of products working all night without mixing with any type of foundation or sunscreen. I never use any type of moisturizer that has an oil or wax ingredient in it. Before applying makeup, my preference has always been a non-oily or water-based moisturizer that has more active ingredients and a hydrating effect. That way, the makeup adheres directly to the skin, not to a layer of oil or waxy substance.
