Clean beauty is, at its core, concerned with transparency, health, safety, and wellness in skin care.
As the clean eating trend begins to face criticism, however, skin care professionals may be concerned with the stability of clean beauty. Regardless of whether the term clean beauty is affected by clean eating, the idea behind the term is solid and should be considered for spas and clients that are particularly concerned with health and well-being.
Clean beauty is particularly concerned with parabens, ethanolamines, phthalates, PEGs, chemical sunscreens, synthetic fragrance, BHT, propylene glycol, and BHA. While there are clean beauty product lines, most people prefer to make their own products out of herbs, coconut oil, salts, sugars, honey, and other natural, plant-based products.
