What tips do you have for getting the most out of a tradeshow?

“Look at the list of vendors and decide how you want to go about the tradeshow floor. Some people go through the booths in order while others visit their favorites first… I prefer to visit my favorites first to see their new products and catch up before they get too swamped.”
Marcus Grane, aesthetician at Two Birds Day Spa

“Always strive to seek the opinions of other professionals. With a giant room full of professionals, there is something to learn everywhere you go! Do not be shy or afraid to ask questions. Professionals can always learn from one another.”
Aynsley Ryden, makeup artist at Beautiful Rose Spa and Salon

“I recommend planning out your trip beforehand. I make sure I register early and check out the tentative class and speaker schedules right away so I can plan my days accordingly! There is nothing worse than showing up to a tradeshow with no idea who is speaking or what is going on.”
Paige Williamson, owner of Paige’s Spa & Salon

“Network, network, network! Tradeshows are fantastic places to gain new clients, vendors, and business partners. I try to talk with as many people as possible and even meet up with some for drinks or dinner between or after the day’s events.”
Sasha Weicherson, L.E., owner at Stay True Spa

“What you wear is actually really important! You should wear comfortable shoes and dress in layers. No one wants their day to be ruined just because of some blisters or from being too hot or cold.”
Ivan Freeson, head aesthetician at A Midnight Dream Spa & Salon

“Be prepared! Bring plenty of business cards, a big bag (with wheels!) to carry pamphlets and other things you pick up from booths, extra pens, a notepad, a bottle of water, a light cardigan, and snacks to keep your energy up.”
Savannah Uland, massage therapist at The Island Oasis Day Spa

“First, I make a schedule of speakers and trainings I want to see/hear. I bring a list of products and items I definitely need to purchase if the price is right. With my free time, I check out new services, products, and items I might want to retail or offer. If possible, I try to get some service and feel like a client!”
Lora Condon, owner of The Beauty Buster
