Tree Spa At Hidden Pond

Written by

Nestled in the balsam and birch groves within Hidden Pond, a luxurious and secluded resort in Kennebunkport, Maine, is the Tree Spa. With three treetop treatment rooms, the Tree Spa features a range of therapies that utilize handmade herbal skin care preparations from Farmaesthetics, as well as make extensive use of fresh ingredients handpicked from Hidden Pond's garden.

Suspended eight feet above ground, treatment rooms are connected by a walkway woven through trees and are outfitted with birch cabinets, mirrors framed in tree bark, and tree branches placed together to form circular tables. Guests can relax on tables adorned with plush bedding while listening to the sounds of the leaves rustling outside.

Tree Spa's products are designed to be as nourishing to the outside of the body as their ingredients are to the inside. Free from chemicals and preservatives, the Farmaesthetic products are made with organically grown herbs, flowers, oils, and grains. Milk, honey, lavender, oatmeal, and cornmeal are all ingredients that are incorporated into skin care treatments, as well as rosemary, mint, and lavender from Hidden Pond's farm.

A sampling of spa experiences include Maine Honey Body Buzz with Warm Remedy Wrap, Tree Spa's signature body treatment; Pure Fusion Bamboo Therapy Massage, an invigorating massage inspired by ancient Chinese, Indonesian, and Japanese rituals; and Pure Earth Heated Stone Therapy.

Travelers experiencing jet lag or travel stress will find relief with The Muscle Melt Renewal Massage. This focused, tension-relieving massage uses scented oils, such as the Naturopathica Alpine Arnica Bath & Body Oil, warmed towels; and therapeutic gels, including Naturopathica Arnica Muscle & Joint Gel to concentrate on the stress areas of the upper back, neck, shoulders, and scalp. This treatment is also ideal for those suffering from muscle tightness and tension in their back. $170 for 75 minutes; $190 for 90 minutes.
