Raw Talent Scholarship Competition

Written by

Marinello Schools of Beauty – a national brand of beauty schools in cosmetology, aesthetics and nail technology education – is launching its 5th Annual Raw Talent Scholarship competition. This competition provides exceptional high school seniors with incredible talent the opportunity for an education at Marinello and the ability to pursue a dream career in the beauty industry. Twenty three scholarships, throughout 62 campuses, will be awarded by Marinello. Applicants in each region will have the chance to win a $10,000 scholarship, $5,000 scholarship, or three one-day professional beauty workshops valued at more than $1,000.

“We are proud to recognize and reward talented high school seniors with an education and career in beauty through our Raw Talent Scholarship competition,” said president of Marinello Schools of Beauty Dr. Nagui Elyas. “To date, we have presented more than 25 students, with natural talent and true passion for the beauty industry, with scholarships and prizes totaling more than $150,000 and we are thrilled to do it again for the fifth year.”
Candidates interested in entering the 5th Annual Raw Talent Scholarship competition are required to submit an essay about how they plan to make a difference in the beauty and wellness industry. Marinello’s High School Scholarship Committee will grade the essay and will evaluate the papers based on content, creativity, spelling, syntax and grammar.
The second part of the application process includes a hands-on competition, where candidates will perform hair and makeup looks on their own models at their local Marinello campus. The Marinello school director will take before and after photographs of all participants’ work and submit it to the Scholarship Committee. The deadline for essay and photographs submissions is April 22nd, 2013.
Scholarship winners will be announced 30 days after the competition deadline.
