Lycored and Operation Respect Partner with The Heritage School in East Harlem to ‘Show Your True Colors’

Written by   Lycored

Lycored, an international wellness company at the forefront of the ingestible skincare market, teamed up with a non-profit organization, Operation Respect, on Thursday, December 5th to launch an initiative called Show Your True Colors. The program is designed to create awareness surrounding the importance of kindness to ourselves and others, where one's colors represent their exceptional journey, talents, and traits. Lycored and Operation Respect together are encouraging young adults to share their true colors in order to make a positive impact in the world and in their community.

Each student has a compelling personal narrative and color story to tell. By showcasing one’s true colors, Lycored is highlighting the idea that we should honor how uniquely different we are from one another – embracing our colors to make the world a more beautiful, vibrant place. To bring this notion to life, students at The Heritage School created t-shirts with custom designs that represent their emotions and personality. In addition, this program identifies the relationship between our inner colors and the bright colors we consume on a daily basis through a healthy diet – a pillar of Lycored’s business.

“In partnering with the student leaders at The Heritage School, we celebrated the colors of the rainbow by expressing their strengths and uniqueness through a bounty of shades that mimic those of nature’s fruits and vegetables,” added Brian Yamamura, Creative Director of Lycored.

While on-site, Lycored invited students to take a pledge and to join Operation Respect and Lycored ambassadors to look at how we’re all different and unique. Show Your True Colors is Lycored’s way of encouraging individuals to be themselves and to stand up for what they believe in. At a future date, Lycored will send the postcards back to each student when it’s least expected to remind them of the personal pledge they took on that day. Following the afternoon at The Heritage School, students were invited to Carnegie Hall with their loved ones to enjoy a live performance, which benefited the Forever Young Foundation's music therapy initiative.

Committed to #rethinkbeautiful, this program supports Lycored’s multi-layer educational initiative designed to spread the word on the role ingestible skincare plays in promoting beauty from within. “Partnerships are ideal when you have shared values. Operation Respect and Lycored are completely in sync in advancing peacebuilding, self-respect, and empathy,” shared John McKenna, Executive Director of Operation Respect. “We look forward to further engagements with Lycored at inner-city schools such as The Heritage School and we look forward to bridging our missions to advance the well-being of children and youth all over the country.”
