Marijuana – an Anti-Aging Powerhouse

Written by

Marijuana is known for many different reasons, but not many know that it can be used in skin care products! Furthermore, the results from tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) or cannabidiol (CBD) can be amazing!
Cannabinoids are anti-inflammatory and anti-aging power houses.

The United States government has stated that CBD used in a non-psychoactive state when applied topically can be a stronger antioxidant than vitamins A, C, and E. Antioxidants work wonders for helping to prevent fine lines and wrinkles; they also aid in the battle against free radicals that are caused by smoke, pollution, and the environment. Free radicals cannot be avoided, so it is necessary to protect the skin against them.
Some clients experience puffy eyes in the morning. They can dab a bit of a cannabis-infused cream under them and see the magic of marijuana’s anti-inflammatory properties. The skin is full of cannabinoid receptors. Cannabinoid receptors are part of the endocannabinoid system that plays a role in how the body reacts to injury. Being that THC and CBD are cannabinoids, they will aid in healing an injury. When a person’s skin is injured in any form, for example, psoriasis or eczema, these cannabinoids can aid in the healing process.
Hemp-seed oil is also a great ingredient for skin care as it is full of omega 3, 6, and 9 fatty acids. Omega 3 is good for the regulation of oil production, maintaining elasticity, and retaining moisture. Hydration of the skin is very important against anti-aging. Omega 3 and 6 help with their anti-inflammatory healing properties. Omega 9, or oleic acid, has very strong antioxidant compounds to help with anti-aging.
Some products to try would be cannabis-infused oils, creams, and masks. The benefits are well worth it. Marijuana – who knew?
