Why do you attend trade shows?

"It's a great way to learn the newest products and trends out there, especially equipment... continuous education is key."

~ Lucy Ruiz

“The industry is changing daily. You've got to keep up with the changes while you're learning the day-to-day treatment practices, the best way to do this is by attending trade shows.”

~ Anna Morrison

“I like attending trade shows because it’s the perfect place for me to re-stock my inventory since exhibitors typically give show discounts. It’s also a great place for me to do research when looking to add to or switch my product line(s). Why? Because exhibitors also tend to give live demos of their products being used and they typically give out free samples as well. Another thing that I’ve found to be extremely eye-opening, is the opportunity provided to actually meet the founder and/or owner of the skin care companies represented – putting a face behind the brand which, in the end, strengthens my faith in their product.”

~ Brittney McGrew

“Unlike other professions, continuing education is not as readily available for aestheticians. This is unfortunate especially when you consider how important it is to keep building your skills as a professional. Trade shows are a great way to continue your education, whether through training seminars they’ve made available or in-booth courses provided by the exhibitors.”

~ Robert Ferguson

“Attending trade shows is a great way to network with like-minded people. There are “key” people in our industry that might have a particular knowledge that you can benefit from – and a trade show is a great place to gain them as a resource… a mentor.”

~ Faith Whittaker

“As an aesthetician your real education in skin care starts after your graduate. For this very reason, I attend trade shows regularly. From finding a mentor, who can help guide you in learning basic business practices and the further development of your skill, trade shows are a great source of knowledge. Trade shows can also provide you with an avenue to continue your education through their workshops and advanced aesthetic classes – giving you the opportunity to learn about new cutting-edge ingredients and technology.”

~ Nadine Brooks
