Round 8: Brand Recovery and Revitalization

Written by   Delilah Matos

This month, we discuss brand recovery and revitalization. This is not a common topic; however, it is a subject that deserves attention.

Brand recovery and revitalization hits areas of business where things may have gone a little bit sour or did not come out quite the way you expected, pertaining to your overall brand image or message. If this has happened to you, you are not alone. This is your time to refresh and reinvent to create something even better.

Here is the good news, you are an entrepreneur. Not everything is going to go perfectly. What is important is identifying the need for a little brand recovery and taking action to implement a way for some quality and successful revitalization. Sometimes, even a complete rebranding is necessary to maintain brand relevance. Whatever it is, I am excited to share with you some tips that will help you recover and revitalize your brand.

Some questions to ask yourself are:

  • Are you clear on what you do or what you offer?
  • Have you lost your passion and need a pick me up?
  • Have you added too many new items or ideas and lost the core vision?
  • Is your brand outdated, lacking distinction or uniqueness?
  • Have newer technologies entered your market and your brand has not evolved with them?

After getting some clarity on these important questions, next we can identify where we can make the best revitalization. Here are my five superstar tips.

Refocus: Clearly articulate or rearticulate your overall brand direction. Re-envision your goals and ambitions.

Restore: Evolve simple, fundamental marketing approaches and create brand changes designed to attract new clients, while making sure to keep your core clients happy.

Reinvent: Be sure to make some improvements to your marketing materials and website, making it easier for the end user.

Reinforce: Focus on generating quality growth. Simply put, begin reinvesting into the brand.

Rebuild: Build the new. Implement a consistent brand experience that fulfills the original promised brand experience. Be consistent.

Now you’re ready to reinvent and revitalize. It is never too late to make your business and dreams come alive and better than before. Remember, the ability to reinvent and move forward successfully is not only part of the game in learning and growing, but it is what makes you a fighter.
