Even small businesses require consistent improvements in many areas, simultaneously, in order to compete and win. It is common to see entrepreneurs with a core of specialized skillsets. Perhaps they are talented at writing code or creating great products, but their marketing skills are low. Or, perhaps, their marketing skills are on point, but their ability to make effective financial decisions are poor. This ultimately shapes the destiny of the business. The key to avoiding trouble is focusing on your combinations.

A combination will not only condition your current business status but, if mastered, can knock out any roadblocks.

1. JAB IT! Know the business that you are in.
2. CROSS! Find a way to meet clients’ needs better than anybody else.
3. HOOK IT! Be sharp and analyze the financial condition of your business at all times.
4. UPPER CUT! Little things are not little – they are everything. Every lead you generate, every margin you increase, every promotion you run, every sale you make – if you do not measure it, you are not managing it and, therefore, not maximizing your overall potential.
