Beauty From the Inside Out

Written by   Deni Dale, electrologist

The aesthetics industry consists of skin care professionals all over the world who use their talents to keep their clients happy, smiling and beautiful. Many of the treatments provided by skin care professionals primarily focus on the various skin regimens and services that help the external, or outer, part of the body. But what about everything that goes on inside of the body? There are many things that your clients can do to benefit themselves internally. From proper nutrition to living a positive, stress-free life, here are a few things that will help kick start your client’s inner beauty.

Water – Our bodies need pure, clean drinking water to flush out bacteria and toxins and keep us healthy. Most people are dehydrated and they do not know it. If your client is drinking other things in the place of clean water, they are not cleaning their system of toxins. If their urine is dark, they may have too many toxins in the body. Their urine should be light in color in order to maintain proper health.1

Sleep – Many people do not get the kind of sleep that they need but the body needs to repair itself every night. Your client may not need eight hours of sleep each night but should have enough hours of deep, uninterrupted sleep to repair the body. The body cannot repair itself and will slowly break down if it is not repairing overnight.

Exercise – We all hear about how we have to exercise; it is essential to your client’s overall health. It is important to not overdo it and incorporate flexibility training as well. Exercising without getting enough sleep will not do the body any good. It can be harmful to exercise without allowing the body to repair during sleep every night.

Vitamins and Supplements – If you are the richest person in the world and you have the best diet given to you from all over the world; your body will still not get what it needs. You do need to supplement. However, people are over-supplementing now. If your client’s urine is dark but they are drinking water and getting enough sleep, they may be over-supplementing.1

Positiveness – What we say matters. Our brain is designed to believe the words that come out of our mouth. It is important that the clients refrain from speaking negatively about themselves. Even if they do not believe the positive words that they are saying, the brain will try desperately to believe it and it will contribute to the client’s overall health.

Laughter – Laughter emits health into your body. Even if you have nothing to laugh about and your life is anything but funny, find a way to laugh.

Stress - Eradicating stress can prove beneficial to your client’s overall health. As children, we had little control over our lives, but as adults, we need to take control. Clients should feel empowered and radical about kicking stress out of their lives. If your client is getting enough sleep and drinking enough water, they will come up with ideas to eradicate stress.
