Skin Blends SPAtique

Written by

Skin Blends SPAtique is a clinical spa nestled on a five-acre parcel outside of Springfield, Mo. Clinical treatments such as laser hair removal, lymph drainage therapy cellulite treatments, and HydraFacial make this spa locally unique. However, their ability to custom blend products for every client truly sets them apart.

Skin Blends Skin Care was founded on the belief of custom blending; when owner Kathleen Carney decided to open the SPAtique, she made sure to make the product line the main focus of the spa.

This spa's blending process begins at the start of each appointment during the skin analysis. Each base product in the Skin Blends line has an option targeting dry, combination, oily, or acneic skin to serve as the starting point to the client's formula. While the base products are very noteworthy on their own, the spa's aestheticians are able to blend in result-oriented cosmeceuticals, botanicals, essential oils, and lipids to target very specific skin care concerns. Having the ability to custom blend a product specifically for each of their clients not only benefits the clients and their skin, but also ensures client retention because they are not able to purchase their products anywhere else.

Aside from clinical treatments and facials, Skin Blends SPAtique also offers volume eyelash extensions, airbrush spray tanning, infrared body wraps, and waxing with Cirepil Wax products. Skin Blends SPAtique's main priority is always to make sure their clients feel whole body gorgeous!

Skin Blends SPAtique's most popular treatment, the Signature Facial, utilizes Skin Blends custom blended products. The Skin Blends Signature Facial is a luxurious, 90-minute facial. The facial begins with a refreshing cleanse, followed by a gentle but effective manual exfoliation. A papain-free enzyme is also used to soften the skin in preparation for extractions. On the nasal area, a light layer of benzoyl peroxide is applied underneath the enzyme to make extractions a breeze. While the enzyme is processing, the skin care professional performs a relaxing arm and hand massage. It is not uncommon for clients to be caught dozing off during this point of the treatment. An essential oil-infused steam towel is used to remove the enzyme and soothe the client in preparation for a facial, scalp, and neck massage. On an as needed basis, clients can add on a flash peel using Skin Blends Glycolic. The spa also uses a two-layer mask, which includes Skin Blends' Recovery Gel Mask and Mineral Clay Mask, to soothe and detoxify skin. Clients are then able to enjoy a tranquil, 20-minute LED light therapy treatment. To finish off the facial, SPAtique's skin care professionals apply their clients' custom blended eye treatment, Hydrating Gel, SPF 50 Cream, Moisturizer, and a touch of Lip Therapy. $110 for 90 minutes.
