September is National Yoga Awareness Month

As an industry that increasingly embraces wellness, aesthetics should look to yoga as a complementary health option for the spa as it encourages the relaxation and calmness that is strived to be invoked by most skin care professionals. Yoga not only improves metabolism and energy, but also helps to relieve stress – a factor that can contribute to a number of skin conditions.

Felix Lopez says, "People visit spas in hopes of receiving the ultimate relaxation experience. At times, it may be hard for skin care professionals to create a relaxing environment for clients when they are busy managing the spa and supervising a team of professionals. Unfortunately, professionals cannot give clients something that they do not possess themselves – a relaxed mindset.
