DO:

Use an occlusive, water-resistant sunscreen. When spending time in the water, most products wash off easily, unless they are water-resistant. Using an occlusive sunscreen will shield the skin from ultraviolet rays and create a protective barrier for the skin.

DON'T:

Use products with surfactants and acids. After participating in water activities, which typically occur while the sun is shining, the skin is highly sensitized (especially if the wind was blowing). As a result, clients should not use products with ingredients that further-sensitize the skin.
