Theresa Blue

Single | Certified Medical Electrologist, instructor, and Pre-professional student | Ocala, Florida

Thersea BlueWhen I am not seeing clients… I am venturing to fill my insatiable thirst for knowledge. I am very inquisitive by nature and aspire to know how everything works, especially the human body.

Dreaming of… going to medical school and becoming a Mohs Micrographic Surgeon. During your fellowship you are also taught several cosmetic procedures such as facelifts, liposuction, and hair transplants. I am so excited and I cannot wait!

If I was not a Certified Medical Electrologist… I would be a dermatologist, in which case I would still be performing and teaching laser hair removal. I love what I do and I look forward to helping more people by expanding my services.

My home… is a culmination of determination, tons of mosquito bites, a huge learning curve, and a huge accomplishment that impresses the guys. I built my house with the help of my father. I used to work with him at his glass company and every day he would draw me a picture, during lunch, showing me what to do next. I would go home after work and build. The next day we would do it again.

Favorite summer trend… attacking every child I see with a bottle of sunscreen.

Obsession… I realized, while watching church on television one morning, that I get my self worth through helping others. I feel like I receive so much more than I give and it is addictive.

The best thing about my age… is that I have endured long enough to find my way, still embody the time to accomplish my goals and realize the fruits of my dreams. Through trials and tribulations I have learned to trust my instinct and appreciate, to the fullest extent, the people I love.

Guilty pleasure… chocolate milk. Growing up, my grandmother kept saying she was going to buy me a cow one day.

My aesthetics mentor is… Dr. Rox Anderson of MIT and Harvard Medical School. He graduated magnum cum laude and with the help of Dr. John Parrish, discovered selective photothermolysis, which is now used in the laser treatment of numerous skin diseases and in laser hair removal.

My favorite type of music… smooth R&B love songs because it has not proven deleterious to my studying and it is very mellow. It is a nice contrast to an
engaged life.

Danielle Black

24 | in a committed relationship | NYS licensed aesthetician / office manager | Newburgh, NY

Danielle BlackWhen I am not seeing clients… I am always researching product lines and trying to keep up on new skin care technologies. You can also find me doing cardio kickboxing and participating in Zumba classes on a regular basis.

If I were not an aesthetician… I would be an actress; it must be fun to get paid to play all day!

Best skin care tip… be sure to cleanse your face before you go to bed at night. I am always amazed at how many of my clients skip this step before hitting the sack.

My home… never has a dull moment!

Favorite Fall/Winter trend… Scarves- they make a great accessory to almost any outfit.

My obsession… organization; I believe that this is the key to happiness
and success.

The best thing about turning 24… is that I am young and full of ideas! Being young not only in age but in the industry gives me plenty of room for growth.

Guilty pleasure… chocolate, I do not think I will ever get sick of it!

Great advice I received as a student… always look at a client’s intake form carefully, the lack of water or vitamins could be an underlying cause of a skin care issue.

My aesthetics mentor is… I really cannot say I have one in particular. I look up to all of the women in the industry. With the forever changing trends and increase in skin care knowledge/techniques everyday, I am always amazed by the women who have been in the industry for years. To be able to grow and mold with all of the changes and advances is truly something spectacular, and should be looked highly upon.

Words of wisdom… be patient, Rome was not built in a day.

One thing you would never guess about me is… I want to learn to skateboard.

I relax/unwind by… taking long drives. It is a great way to clear your mind and listen to some good tunes.

My dreams include… opening my own skin care clinic with my own organic formulated signature skin care line.

I feel accomplished when… I have had a busy day, and still managed to finish everything on my “to achieve list” for the day. I also feel accomplished when I schedule vacations - the ultimate pay off!
