| E-newsletters | an online report or e-mail that contains news of interest to a specific group, e.g. the members of a society or employees of an organization, and is circulated to them periodically |
| Eczema | A chronic inflammation of the skin, which causes red, blistered, oozing areas that, itch painfully |
| Edema | an excessive accumulation of serous fluid in tissue spaces or a body cavity |
| EEOC | (Equal Employment Opportunity Commission) a U.S. federal agency tasked with ending employment discrimination in the U.S.; signed into law by President John F. Kennedy by Executive Order 10925, it can bring suit on behalf of alleged victims of discrimination against private employers; it also serves as an adjudicatory for claims of discrimination brought against federal agencies |

| Emergency | a situation which poses an immediate risk to health, life, property, or environment; most require urgent intervention to prevent a worsening of the situation, although in some situations, mitigation may not be possible and agencies may only be able to offer palliative care for the aftermath |

| Enzymes | biological catalysts made of protein and vitamins that break down complex food molecules to smaller molecules in order to utilize the energy extracted from food |
| Epidermal Growth Factor (EGF) | facilitates the growth and repair of injured or inflamed intestinal tissue |
| Epidermis | The outer, protective, nonvascular layer of the skin, covering the dermis |
| Epilation | The removal of hair by the root |
| Epilthelization | A chronic inflammation of the skin, which causes red, blistered, oozing areas that, itch painfully. The over production of keratinized cells during healing which causes milia. |

| Epitheliam | Membranous tissue composed of one or more layers of cells separated by very little intercellular substance |

| Essential Fatty Acid | Fatty acids that are required in the human diet and cannot be synthesized by the body from other fatty acids and must be obtained from food. |
| Etiology | The study of the cause of disease. |
| Etiquette | The practices and forms prescribed by social convention or by authority. |
| Eustress | the optimal level of mind-body activation and alertness that facilitates peak performance, or good stress. |
| Evolving melanoma | A change in size, shape, color, or elevation of a melanoma. |
| Exfoliation | The artificial process of removing epidermal corneocytes to increase the cellular renewal process. |
| Exogenous Ochronosis | A condition of darkening of the area treated by hydroquinone. |
| Exothermic | A chemical reaction that gives of heat. |
| Expel | To dislodge, eject or force out. |
| Extremity | The distant part or end part of an organ; a hand or foot. |
| Extrinsic | external aging that is by the environment and occurs as a result of exposure to the sun, air pollution, smoking, lifestyle, cosmetics, allergens, and personal negligence. |
